The 11 movies below are some of my favories in this genre. Whenever this season or mood arrives, items from this list are my go-to comfort food. To qualify, a movie must be solidly in-genre and be highly rated (or purposefully bad). Either way, these are the cream of their respective crop.

All flash and little bang. It remains a fun watch, you just can't think about the plot points too much. Instead, sit back and enjoy the ride for what it is, not what it could be.

There was a lot to like. It was slow and the low key environment was a good change of pace. The characters were great and the cast was unreal. Great roles all around. The plot got a little confusing, but mostly got explained. Not the best heist movie, but not a terrible one.

Now You See Me 2
Gets a little too caught up being clever about its structure and not enough time on magic and character development that makes sense. It's a fun ride when you want to relax though. Has a couple of super memorable moments, especially the nutty vault scene. Also markedly less of a "wealth distribution" theme than the first one, which is a shame.

Charming old movie. Definitely a different style than today's heist movies, but definitely enjoyable.

Pretty good, but the pacing was strange. Not a lot of minutes of actual heists. Lots of suave goings-on though
