A fascinating read, especially considering it was recorded in 2011. There's not one thing that brought down the Roman republic, but a series of changes and people who set it on the road to ruin. There are some pretty obvious parallels for the state of the US right now. But the good news (such that it is) is that the empire took hundreds of years to fall after it started that way, so maybe we'll be ok for a bit. Hard to say. Either way, certainly a thought provoking read!
